DATABASE DETAILS

Qoute: "The government was first challenged by the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Party (EPRP) through both a political and an armed struggle in 1974 when the popular revolution started. In 1976 the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) joined the armed struggle and would soon become the largest and most successful opposition party. The TPLF coordinated some of its attacks with the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF) that was simultaneously fighting for an independent Eritrea, and the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) struggling for an independent Oromiya."
