This online memorial includes the names and stories of more than 700 educators who were killed or committed suicide as a result of torture during the Cultural Revolution. It have been compiled by Youqin Wang, senior lecturer at the Chinese Program at University of Chicago, who have done extensive research on the Chinese Cultural Revolution and in that work interviewed thousands of people who were victims of abuse and torture.
